The Florida (FL) Sustainable Forestry Initiative® Implementation Committee (SIC) works to promote the SFI program throughout Florida. The FL SIC promotes the SFI forest standard as a means to broaden the practice of responsible forestry and achieve on-the-ground results. They offer a forum to provide information and answer questions about local forestry operations and work with local organizations and individuals, providing leadership and sharing best practices to improve forest management on both certified and noncertified lands.  In 2016, the Florida SIC, which includes 17 program participants, is distributing $86,000 in support for logger training programs, private non-industrial landowner awareness, and public educational forestry outreach.  Since 1995, the Florida SIC has raised approximately $1.4 million through participant dues to fund such SFI-supporting activities.
