SFI Certified Greeting Cards

SFI is proud to offer a line of six greeting cards that incorporate unique elements of sustainable design and feature nature photographs of scenes from North American forests. These cards, printed on SFI-certified paper, are a perfect way to send your holiday wishes, birthday greetings or thank-you notes to clients, friends, family and colleagues.

One tree will be planted for each card sold or distributed. This commitment was possible thanks to a partnership between SFI and card designer One Tree per Card. Trees will be planted by Trees for the Future, a long-standing US-based NGO that plants millions of trees in developing regions throughout the world.

Cards may be purchased for $3.75 US per card. Discounts are available for bulk orders: 12 cards for $3.50 per; 24 cards for $3.00 per; 48 cards for $2.75 per; 96 cards and up for $2.50 per.

Select the quantity you wish to order for each card, enter your contact information, and click “Submit Order”. SFI will reply to your note within 2 days, advising the total cost and confirming the order. SFI will request that you forward a check to their head office. Once SFI receives the check they will express post your order (postage and handling is included in the per unit cost.) Given the urgency to fill orders for Christmas, SFI will send the cards upon receipt of order for the month of December

Butterflies are good indicators of biodiversity. This fritillary regularly visits flowers near boreal forest edge habitats. The Washington Department of Natural Resources and Weyerhaeuser are currently conducting research on SFI-certified forests to develop best management practices for preventing negative impacts to butterfly habitat.

These majestic birds require large diameter trees to nest and forage. Earlier in 2008, SFI presented a conservation leadership award to UPM-Kymmene, Time Inc., Bird Studies Canada, Nature Conservancy Canada, and the New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources for partnering on a study to examine the effects of harvesting on indicator bird species such as these.

A typical scene of heavy snowfall in Northern New Brunswick. The large mature trees along the edge of this cove are a good example of a well established buffer zone as required by the SFI standard around water bodies.
