SFI annonce de nouveaux administrateurs ayant de l’expertise 
sur les grandes questions de durabilité

La société Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) est heureuse d’annoncer l’élection de trois nouveaux administrateurs : Jad Daley, président-directeur général d’American Forests; Patricia Layton, directrice de l’Institut de l’utilisation du bois et de la conception d’ouvrages en bois de l’Université Clemson et professeure de foresterie à cette même université; et Jeff Bromley, président du Conseil du bois du Syndicat des Métallos.

SFI Announces New Board Members with Expertise 
on Key Sustainability Issues

The Sustainable Forestry Initiative Inc. (SFI) is pleased to announce the election of three new members to its board of directors: Jad Daley, President and CEO, American Forests, Dr. Patricia Layton, Director of Clemson University’s Wood Utilization + Design Institute and Professor of Forestry at Clemson University, and Jeff Bromley, United Steelworkers Wood Council Chair.

LA BRASSERIE COWBELL REÇOIT LE PRIX DU BOIS CERTIFIÉ DE SFI CÉLÉBRANT LA BEAUTÉ ET LES AVANTAGES DU BOIS

La brasserie Cowbell a reçu aujourd’hui le Prix du bois certifié de la société Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) pour son utilisation de produits de bois provenant de sources responsables dans la conception de la première brasserie carboneutre d’Amérique du Nord. Le prix fait partie du programme des prix pour la conception et la construction en bois. Allan Avis Architects a reçu le prix lors de la Wood Solutions Fair, à Toronto.

Cowbell Brewing Co. Wins the SFI-Certified Wood Award Celebrating the Beauty and Benefits of Wood

Cowbell Brewing Co. won the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Certified Wood Award today for using responsibly sourced wood products in the design of North America’s first carbon neutral brewery. The award is part of the Wood Design & Building Awards program. Allan Avis Architects received the award at the Toronto Wood Solutions Fair in Toronto on November 22.

Emily Jo Williams and Healy Hamilton Win SFI Conservation Leadership Award for Championing SFI’s Conservation Impact Project

The Sustainable Forestry Initiative Inc. (SFI) announced the 2019 winners of the SFI Conservation Leadership Award at the SFI Annual Conference today. Emily Jo Williams, Vice President, Migratory Birds and Habitats at the American Bird Conservancy, and Dr. Healy Hamilton, NatureServe’s Chief Scientist are being recognized for their leadership in facilitating projects that illustrate conservation values on lands certified to the SFI standards or affected by SFI Fiber Sourcing.

Georgia SFI Implementation Committee Wins Award for Logger Training, Water Quality, and Community Collaboration

The Sustainable Forestry Initiative Inc. (SFI) announced the 2019 winner of the SFI Implementation Committee Achievement Award at the SFI Annual Conference today. The Georgia SFI Implementation Committee was selected for its leadership on logger training, water quality, and outreach to landowners, educators, and legislators.

Project Learning Tree Launches Green Jobs: Exploring Forest Careers Curriculum to Engage Youth in Exploring Green Careers

Project Learning Tree (PLT), the award-winning environmental education initiative of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), has developed new supplementary education materials to help youth discover careers in sustainable forestry and conservation. Green Jobs: Exploring Forest Careers includes four hands-on instructional activities to help youth research different forest-sector jobs, and practice managing and monitoring forest resources.
