SFI supports Bat Conservation Project

Photo of the Week 4

This shot is from a bat conservation project we participated in with Nature Conservancy Canada where an abandoned mine was gated to protect a critical hibernation zone. Bats are an important part of the forest ecosystem and with the white-nose syndrome fungus threatening bats across North America we hope that protecting this important bat hibernacula will improve our understanding of bat hibernacula and provide learnings for other SFI partners.
